Rigger Level II

Rigger Level II

A Rigger Level II is a skilled professional who not only possesses the competencies of a Rigger Level I but also demonstrates advanced abilities in selecting rigging components and procedures based on rigging capacity. They are capable of estimating load weight and center of gravity, identifying lift points, selecting appropriate rigging based on loading requirements, conducting pre-use inspections of rigging and lift points, and attaching rigging using hitch configurations and load angle factors while ensuring load integrity. Furthermore, a Rigger Level II has a thorough understanding of load dynamics and associated hazards, enabling them to work independently and unsupervised.

The Rigger Level II Training program focuses on the following key areas:

Familiarization with applicable OSHA and ANSI/ASME regulations and standards.
Understanding the scope of the rigging activity.
Effective planning of the rigging activity.
Selection of appropriate rigging components.
Technical knowledge is required for rigging operations.
Rigorous inspection procedures for rigging equipment.
Execution of the rigging activity.
Level lifting techniques.
Proper selection of slings and rigging hardware.
Load-turning maneuvers.
Winching and drifting loads.
Ensuring load control during lifting operations.
Safe movement of loads up and down ramps.
Selection and utilization of below-the-hook lifting devices.
Proper crane set-up procedures.
